Don’t Be A Stumbling Block

“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”
– 1 Corinthians 6:12

I was reading a post from a friend of mine earlier, and the post was about a video of Christian woman wearing bikinis. I knew it was going to get controversial, but it straight up got ugly real fast. I personally didn’t have an issue with the video. I felt that the video was fair and balanced regarding not allowing your brother or sister to stumble, but I personally don’t have an issue with Christian women wearing skimping swimsuits.

I bring this up because this is a classic example of how something so small can cause so much trouble. Paul was saying how we have the freedom to do what we want that is not directly sinning against God, but if what we do causes someone else to sin, then we are committing a sin. What may be right for you may not be for other (an example, drinking alcohol). Let’s enjoy the freedom we have as Christian, but let’s also not be a stumbling block to others especially to new believers or younger believers.
