Some days are hard. Let’s just face it. So how do we overcome the loneliness and the disappointments of our day? This may seem like an obvious Christian response but hear me out; let’s pray to God about it! Not just pray with a few words but converse with our Heavenly Father in a long and depth way.

The church and people have hurt me, so it’s easy to settle to speaking to God in a few words or not speaking to Him for fear of the Lord, not understanding. People will continue to disappoint you, so why don’t you talk to the One who created the people who are in your life? And He may surprise you with a solution or two! And getting it off your chest is wonderful too! He knows their perspective so that God can let you in on their motives and heart behind their actions.

Fads change like clothes and music. So do people’s communications. Texting has advanced and hindered our interactions with each other. And with the pandemic and the social and political upheaval, it most certainly has impacted personal relationships. So why do you give it to God?

Hebrews 4:14-16, “So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most” [NLT].

Hebrews 7:25, “And so Jesus is able, now and forever, to save from the punishment of sin all who come to God through Him because He lives forever to pray for them” [NLT].

James 4:8-10, “Come close to God and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners. Clean up your hearts, you who want to follow the sinful ways of the world and God at the same time. Be sorry for your sins and cry because of them. Be sad and do not laugh. Let your joy be turned to sorrow. Let yourself be brought low before the Lord. Then He will lift you up and help you [NLT].
