Naturally Supernatural

Naturally Supernatural

naturally-supernatural

“Late in the afternoon his disciples came to him and said, ‘This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the nearby farms and villages and buy something to eat.’ But Jesus said, ‘You feed them.'”
– Mark 6:35-37a [NLT]

Jesus shocked His disciples when he told them to feed the multitude of people. Little did they know that they already had all they needed to provide food for the crowd. The disciples reacted to a life situation like you, and I often do. They said to Jesus that it would take a considerable amount of money to buy food for the people (Mark 6:37). Dwelling only on the natural can impede the supernatural. The disciples did not understand that what they had, and God was always enough. Jesus’ miracles were often a combination of the natural and the supernatural.

Obedience always brings a blessing. In the mission in which I worked, we said, you do the possible, and God will do the impossible. The disciples knew they did not have enough food to feed the people, five loaves of bread and two fish, yet they obeyed Christ. God never asks us to do the impossible, but he does ask us to do the possible. In many circumstances, we do not see the possible as sufficient and therefore do not obey God and never see the impossible happen. The truth is that the possible is always insufficient without God.

In our mission, we had another saying, where God leads, He feeds, where He guides, He provides. You do the possible, expecting God to do the impossible, and watch God be naturally supernatural. I saw this repeatedly happen in our missionary work.
