I have been blessed with some incredible friends in the past few years. The biggest reason why I enjoyed living in Jacksonville so much was the great friends I made there. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have enjoyed living in Jacksonville so much. My friends have encouraged me and helped me get through tough times even though they didn’t always have the money to do so. I’ve grown so much spiritually since moving to Florida, and it stinks I had to move due to financial difficulty, but I know God put them in my life for a reason. The Bible does say that “iron sharpens iron” in Proverbs 27:17, and that has certainly been true in my life.
Connecting with God-centered people in your young adult years is pretty tough, but God has made it work out for me. It’s been challenging hanging out with them sometimes, due to them living in a different section of Jacksonville than I do. Those guys have been like family to me, if they weren’t in my life I honestly would have been lost. It was tough losing my mom and being forced to start my life over in Florida after 12 years in North Carolina, but God has been with me through that process.
Having a strong group of Christ-minded friends is key to growing spiritually. If you go to church where you do have anyone your age to hang with then pray that God brings the right people in your life. He did it for me despite my circumstances.
