The Farmer’s Old Lamp

The Farmer’s Old Lamp

A farmer once had an old oil lamp hanging by his barn door. It was rusted and dim, but it still gave just enough light for him to walk safely at night. One evening, a neighbor stopped by and chuckled, “You still use that old thing? It barely lights the path!”

The farmer smiled. “Maybe so,” he said, “but I don’t need to see the whole path – just the next few steps.”

That simple comment hits at the heart of faith. God rarely shows us the full road ahead. He just gives enough light for the next step, and expects us to keep walking. Faith doesn’t demand a floodlight.  It’s content with the lamp of God’s Word.

So when you can’t see the outcome, when your prayers feel unanswered and the future looks uncertain, keep walking in the light you’ve been given. The Lord never promised full clarity, but He did promise His presence.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

– Psalm 119:105

Keep trusting Him, even when the path is dim. The same God who lights your steps also holds your destination securely.
