I have some exciting news to share from my heart to yours. In the coming weeks, I’ll be releasing my new book, New in Christ – A Simple Guide For New Christians, a short guidebook lovingly written for those who have recently decided to follow Jesus. This project has been a labor of love and prayer, born out of my desire to help brand-new Christians navigate the first steps of their faith journey with hope and confidence.
When someone gives their life to Christ, it’s the start of a beautiful new adventure – but it can also feel overwhelming. New in Christ is designed to be a gentle, down-to-earth companion for new believers. Remember the first time you opened a Bible, or tried to pray, and weren’t sure where to begin? I certainly do. I’ve poured that understanding into this book. Chapter by chapter, it offers short, clear, biblical truth on essential topics: how to pray and really connect with God, how to read the Bible and get something out of it, why being part of a church family matters, why you should get baptized, what to do when you stumble or doubt, and so much more. It’s Gospel-centered and theologically sound, but written in a warm, conversational style that anyone can grasp.
I wrote New in Christ with tremendous love and care – as if I were sitting with a new believer over coffee, walking through these precious first steps together. You won’t find harsh lectures or dry theology. Instead, it’s full of encouragement and Scripture guiding the way. (After all, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation” – and even new creations need nurturing!). My hope is that readers will feel God’s love on every page and finish the book feeling assured that Jesus is with them every step of the journey.
This guidebook is also for the church at large. Pastors, church leaders, mentors, and friends, I’m looking at you! Many of you have shared how you long for a resource to put in the hands of someone who has just come to faith – something that covers the basics without overwhelming them. I truly believe New in Christ can be that resource. It’s the kind of book you can gift to a new believer on Sunday, and by the next Sunday, they’ll have a clearer understanding of what this new life in Jesus Christ is all about.
