In life, we all face challenges and obstacles that can sometimes feel overwhelming. It’s easy to get caught up in our problems and become consumed with worry and stress. However, as disciples of Jesus Christ, we have a powerful tool that we can use to help us navigate through difficult times. That tool is prayer, and as I like to phrase it, “rolling our problems” to God.
Proverbs 16:3 AMPC says, “Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.” This verse reminds us that we can trust God with our problems, and when we do, He will guide us and help us to succeed.
So how exactly do we “roll our problems” to God? Here are a few steps:
Recognize that you need God’s help. The first step in rolling your problems to God is to acknowledge that you can’t handle everything on your own. Admit that you need His guidance and support.
Pray about your problems. Take time to talk to God about what you’re going through. Be honest and open with Him about your fears, worries, and concerns.
Surrender your problems to God. Once you’ve shared your issues with God, surrender them to Him. Trust that He will guide you and help you through whatever challenges you’re facing.
Believe that God is working on your behalf. Even when things don’t seem to be going well, trust that God is working behind the scenes to bring about good in your life.
Take action when prompted by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes God will guide us to take specific actions to address our problems. When you feel prompted by the Holy Spirit to do something, take action in faith, knowing that God is with you every step of the way.
By praying and rolling our problems to God, we can find peace and comfort amid arduous circumstances. We can trust that He will guide us and help us to succeed. So the next time you face a challenge, remember to roll your works upon the Lord and trust Him to establish your plans and bring about success in your life.
