“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”
– Hebrews 12:1 [NLT]
Lately, I have been talking about staying encouraged because I experienced firsthand how discouragement can ruin your peace. Satan’s loves when we feel discouraged because he knows that’s when we start to doubt God and lose faith in Him. I’ve had that happened to me numerous times over the 10 and a half years of being a believer. Satan uses your past mistakes, love ones, a broken promise from people you trust, etc., to keep you off track. God can feel distant in those moments, but He’s on the sidelines cheering us on.
Matthew 11:28-30 talks about Jesus carrying our burdens, and Joshua 1:8-9 God speaks to Joshua, telling him to be of good courage. God won’t just leave us in the woods, but He’s fighting the battle with us and for us.
