Keep Paddling

Keep Paddling

We all have good days, but we also have bad days. Don’t let the bad days overthrow you like a rocky current on a river! Please remember to keep paddling! I remember this story told to me by a man who was an expert at canoeing. He told me he was canoeing down a canal, and the wind was coming from an unusual direction, making it hard to canoe down this tight space with the wind blowing right at him. He told me in situations like this to keep paddling but don’t paddle harder because of the wind because you will get tired faster, and it won’t make you get to your destination any quicker. It will actually take longer because of becoming fatigued and needing to take a break.

So, as easy as it may be to do when you are anxious, don’t panic, but keep paddling. But don’t paddle harder. Or work harder because you are anxious.

Proverbs 3:6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” [NIV].

Proverbs 11:14, Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. [ESV]

The Lord will guide your steps and give you wonderful peace! Trust the Lord Almighty that He is “Mighty” in your life! And remember your last successes of overcoming the storms of life and trust in His promises to get you through the tough times!
